JANET LAM, MBA

Never one to sit on her hands, Janet has found consulting to be her perfect fit. Constantly expanding her knowledge through courses and life experiences, Janet holds an MBA from ESADE Business School and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of British Columbia. She is also a Six Sigma Green Belt holder and a two-time startup founder.

Prior to Building Blocks, Janet was an Investment Advisor at Canaccord Genuity, the largest independent capital markets firm in Canada, and she was part of the lead Chinese-speaking advisory team. Janet has appeared on the news and in prints as an industry thought leader. She was recognized by The Top 100 Magazine as one of the Top 100 People in Finance for 2021.

Janet has over 15 years of experience building and advising purpose-driven companies and working with individuals, teams, and organizations to design products, services, and businesses that solve real problems using innovation and technology. She has helped numerous companies successfully secure business loans ranging from $100,000-$1,000,000+ from major Canadian banks, BDC and private investors alike.

Janet is committed to helping entrepreneurs pursue their dreams. Her passion and dedication to providing sound counsel to business owners is what makes her excellent at her job. When she’s not in the office you can find her playing golf, spending time with her Husky Baller or immersing herself in a new culture abroad. Having visited over 80 cities, Janet’s favourite place in the world is currently Barcelona where she spent 2 years completing her MBA degree.

STEPHANIE LEUNG

Stephanie received a B.S. in Global Management from the University of Southern California and was part of the Mandarin Language Program in the University of Fudan, China. Her education set her on the path of investment, both in real estate and other businesses, as well as managing others’ investments.

Before that, Stephanie worked closely with NASDAQ-listed multinational manufacturers as a Marketing Executive at Nikkei (Canada) Marketing Limited. There she helped manufacturers to develop a new brand of health supplements, from conception to shelf, and coordinated with the FDA and Health Canada to obtain the proper licensing for all products under new regulations. 

Stephanie also worked abroad in Hong Kong for Emphasis Media (rebranded as Publicitas Publishing) in their editorial department, managing four monthly and one quarterly publication for clients, including Studio CX, the entertainment section of Discovery magazine and Executive Traveller’s Companion for Cathay Pacific, Select 300i, and Select Mainscreen for Malaysia Airlines. She is fluent in English, as well as conversational in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
